Election Day in Limerick Township and Unfair Campaign Tactics

Tomorrow is Election Day in Pennsylvania. It may not have the SIZZLE as last year’s Presidential Election, but IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT none-the-less. County Judge Races, School Board Races, as well as Local Municipal Races for Township Supervisor & Tax Collector are IMPORTANT to you as a local Resident.

Unfortunately, during this past week, and probably tomorrow at the polling places in Limerick 3 (Linfield Fire Company), Limerick 4 (Brooke Elementary School) and Both Royersford polling places which cover the Spring-Ford School Director Race, the Republican candidate, Robert Weber, sponsored and paid for extremely negative campaign material that has been left over the weekend on mailboxes throughout those districts, and will probably be handed out at the Polling places tomorrow as well. Teenagers were in fact recruited to distribute this material which has been an attempt to defame the current Spring-Ford School Board President Tom DiBello and has made the race extremely ugly.

Negative campaigning has always been a factor in many political campaigns in an attempt to woo voters. In this case the information distributed, in my opinion went too far, and is a last ditch effort to bolster a campaign that has not gained any traction.  I ask that voters look at an incumbant's record while in office, to determine whether that individual should be re-elected.

Please support BOTH Tom DiBello and Joe Ciresi for re-election to the Spring-Ford School Board. Let's not take a step backward when it comes to the advancement of education in the District, and maintaining lower property taxes, as well as reducing the accumulated deficits incurred by previous boards.

In Limerick Township, Annamarie Chestnut, the proprietor of Annamarie's Place in Royersford is running for Tax Collector. Her sincere interest in the community as a life-long resident with keen business acumen and tremendous consumer support services when elected, will provide convenient daytime and evening office hours. As a candidate, only she has a true understanding as a property owner herself when it comes to paying their real estate taxes.

Lesley Bradley and Paul Siles, as candidates for Limerick Township Supervisor have run a clean campaign and will provide a balance on the current ALL Republican Board of Supervisors. A 50% increase in local Township Taxes during the last two years deserves a different perspective and oversight for its residents and its govering body.

And Lastly, BOTH Steve Tolliver and Gail Weilheimer are the two (2) Democratic candidates for the Common Pleas Court Bench. They both have impeccable credentials and deserve your consideration on the ballot.

Polls are open from 7am-8pm tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5th. Your voice won't be heard if you decide to sit out this election. Let it be heard loud and clear. See you at the Polls .......
