Pennsylvania Turkey to be Served at White House Thanksgiving

Jaindl Farms have been providing turkeys to the White House since 1962.

Written by Alison Smith:

When dinnertime rolls around on Thursday, the turkey on the table at the White House will be one raised right here in Pennsylvania.

Jaindl Turkey Farms in the Lehigh Valley has been providing special “presidential” turkeys to the White House since 1962, when the company won a National Turkey Federation contest and was asked to supply a turkey to the Kennedy White House. That tradition has continued ever since.

“We sent sent two 30 lb. birds to the White House. … They are bagged in a special label created by the packaging company especially for the President,” David Jaindl, owner of Jaindl Farms in North Whitehall, told Patch in a recent interview.
