Spring-Ford Varsity Ice Hockey Suffers First Loss of Season

Sprin-Ford Varsity Ice Hockey

It had the makings of a long night at Center Ice when Spring-Ford fell behind two zip in the first period of play Friday against fierce rival, Perkiomen Valley. Despite a packed house of eerily subdued Rams’ fans, the boys seemed to skate in slow motion. That is until Jon Palmer put the first goal in the net for Spring-Ford and then things erupted. The fans jumped into the game at about the same time as our boys.

They skated hard and never gave up despite remaining behind throughout the contest. Junior Tyler Murphy scored his first hat trick of the season and Adam Panzarella went in to defend in net in the third period to put a stop to the Viking’s offense.

It was a tough game and a tough lose for Spring-Ford. The boys were physically and emotionally spent at the final buzzer. But, as they exited the locker room there seemed to be one thing on all the boy’s minds and it was perfectly said by Senior Captain, Chris Charlton, ”We’ll get’um next time!”

Spring-Ford plays their next game at Ice Line on Monday night, November 12 at 8:45.  A re-match with Perkiomen Valley is scheduled for Friday night, November 30 at 9:00pm at Center Ice.
