Obit: Eugene F. Bloomquist, Long-Time Spring-Ford CC Member

A U.S. Army Veteran, Bloomquist worked for the Philadelphia Electric Company in Plymouth Meeting.

Eugene F. Bloomquist, husband of the late Marie (Raser) Bloomquist, of East Pikeland Township, PA died Monday, September 9th, 2013 in the LifeCare Hospital of Chester County, West Chester, PA.  Born in Mount Jewett, PA, he was a son of the late Elmer and Elsie M. (Ordiway) Bloomquist.  He was a graduate of the Mt. Jewett High School.  A decorated war veteran, Mr. Bloomquist served as a 2nd lieutenant for the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.  He flew reconnaissance  missions in B-17's and B-25's.  Mr. Bloomquist worked as a construction detailer and estimator for the Philadelphia Electric Company in Plymouth Meeting.  He was a member of the Spring-Ford Country Club in Royersford for many years.

Mr. Bloomquist is survived by one daughter; Bonnie K. Kirk, of Phoenixville, three sons; Ronald E., husband of Margaret Bloomquist, of Brooksville, FL, Gerald W., husband of JoAnn Bloomquist, of Oaks, PA, Kirby L., husband of Caroline Bloomquist, of East Coventry, PA, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell–Ennis–Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, September 13th, 2013 at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring City, PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Friday morning at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
