Obituary: Barbara J. Mack, 71, Former Royersford Police Secretary

Mack worked as a secretary for the Royersford Police Department for many years.

Barbara J. (Detwiler) Mack, age 71, wife of Joseph P. Mack, of Royersford, PA died Tuesday morning, Oct. 15,  in the Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Chrisman) Detwiler. She was a graduate of the Phoenixville High School.  Mrs. Mack worked as a secretary for the Royersford Police Department for many years.  She was a member of the Green Tree Church of the Brethren. 

In addition to her husband of 51 years, Mrs. Mack is survived by two sons: Mark J. Mack, of St. Augustine, FL; Stephen J. Mack, of Douglassville, PA; one sister: Martha Laird, wife of the late Robert, of Kimberton, PA; one brother: Richard Detwiler, husband of Linda, of Royersford; one grandson: Stephen J. Mack, Jr.  Mrs. Mack was pre-deceased by one brother: Lawrence Detwiler, who died while serving his country in Vietnam. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA on Friday, Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David A. Leiter. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, PA 19468 or from 9-10:15 a.m. Friday morning at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the Green Tree Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 874, Oaks, PA 19456.
