Obituary: James D. Hetrick, Sr.

Army veteran; longtime Bethel UMC member; Jan. 7

James D. Hetrick, Sr., husband of Kaye A. (Shantz) Hetrick, of Spring City, PA died early Monday morning, January 7th, 2013 in the Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA.  Born in West Buffalo Township, Union County, PA, he was a son of the late Robert F. Hetrick and Mary (Metz) Hetrick.  A veteran, Mr. Hetrick served for the U.S. Army.  He worked for the Synthane - Taylor Company in Oaks, PA for over 25 years, then General Tech Plastic Company in Lionville and more recently the Greene Tweed Manufacturing Company in Kulpsville, PA.  He was a long term member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Spring City.  

He enjoyed bringing his car to car shows and was a member of the former Spring City Veterans Center VFW and a life member of the Friendship Fire Company Hook and Ladder in Royersford where he enjoyed bowling in a league.  He also enjoyed traveling.  Mr. Hetrick was a very devoted family man and loved spending every minute he could  with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, Mr. Hetrick is survived by two children: James D. Hetrick, Jr., husband of Karen (Weadley) Hetrick, of Salisbury, NC; Lynne A., wife of Ralph L. Huerta, of Downingtown, PA; two sisters: Minerva Theese and Mildred DeWalt; five grandchildren: James III, Robert, Dawn, Courtney, Brooke; and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Hetrick is pre-deceased by one grandson: Daniel M. Huerta; one brother: Ellis R. Hetrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, Spring City, PA on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM.  Officiating will be the Rev. Jacqueline A. Hines.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 6:30 - 8:30PM Friday evening at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 or from 12:45 - 1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Church.  Memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Bethel United Methodist Church at the above address.  Condolences may be made and the video tribute may be viewed by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
