Obituary: Reda Beard Sypherd, 82

Reda Beard Sypherd, born Nov. 8, 1930 in Spring City, PA , died Aug. 21 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Kimberton.

She graduated from Spring City High School in 1948.  Her parents were Wilmer and Grace (Latshaw) Beard, who owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Spring City in the '40s and '50s.

Reda was a wonderful homemaker, a talented artist and participated in many craft shows selling her hand-crafted tinware.

She was formerly a member of First United Church of Christ in Spring City where she married John Levi Sypherd on February 17, 1952. She later became a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren Church in Kenilworth.

She is survived by her husband John of almost 62 years, son Scott, daughters Melanie Lilley and Lisa Schwarz, her younger brother Richard and her four grandchildren: Hannah Vanderpoel, Levi Lilley, Charlotte Lilley and Stanley Schwarz. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Ciabattoni, Grace Thompson, Lois Thompson, and Doris Iannelli as well as her brothers Wilmer and Doug.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 26  at 11:00 AM at Coventry Church of the Brethren,  East Cedarville Road and Keim Street, Pottstown, PA.  Officiating will be Rev. Sandford J. Christophel.  Visitations will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions  may be made to Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
