Veterans Day 2013

I have to say I am severely disgusted that Spring-Ford Schools will not be observing Veterans Day.  My oldest child who attends a charter school through the school district has no school on Monday in order to observe Veterans Day. I am curious why Spring-Ford has chosen to ignore what I feel is a very important day. It amazes me the way the school system here chooses which Holidays they will recognize and which they will not. Certain religious Holidays the children are given off to observe yet others they are not.  I really feel this is an issue that our community needs to address.  I come from a strong military background and I feel that observing Veterans Day is an important learning experience for our children. I'm ashamed to say that my Children's Schools do not feel the same.
