Checking out at the Giant in Royersford last week, I was asked if I wanted to contribute any money to the food pantry. I was surprised. Its not Thanksgiving or Christmas which is when we normally see food drives. But people are in need all year long, aren't they? Circumstances change for families in the spring and summer as well as the fall and winter.
I asked the woman helping me check out if she knew where the food went. I was shocked when she was able to tell me exactly where it went.....to a food pantry right here in Royersford! She knew exactly where it was located, when they are open, the person who shops for the food weekly and what he purchases. How wonderful! Any dollar contributed goes to help families in our own community.
Passing Royersford Baptist Church a couple of weeks back, they posted that they offer a free dinner night for people and anyone can attend.

I'm sure there are many more opportunities to help families in need in our area. These are a couple that were brought to my attention.
