Car Hits Royersford Bank

The National Penn Bank on Main Street was damaged in the accident.

Royersford Police responded to an accident scene around 10:17am on Wednesday at the National Penn Bank at 793 Main Street in Royersford.

A car had struck the building to the right of the main entrance, damaging the outer wall and windows.

The elderly driver was not hurt, according to Royersford media relations officer Tom Godin.

Engineers will have to assess the structural damage to the building. Police are still investigating the accident, so it is unknown at this time if there will be any charges filed.

Same old story...what is there to investigate? The driver thought they had it in reverse and gunned it through the building. Thank god no one got hurt. What will it finally take to get the "elderly" off the roads if they do not know how to drive. Mandatory driving tests should be done once they reach 65 if not sooner.

Could the cause be the car? Where I live, it is common for cars to be in reverse and go forward through buildings. The police are blaming it on the car. It happens to people of all ages, not just the "elderly." It is happening to people who are safe drivers.
