Charges have been filed against a 35-year-old Pottstown man who allegedly caused a crash on Route 422 westbound in Limerick on Saturday, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident occurred roughly 10 minutes after a fatal accident further west on Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
Joseph Sullivan was traveling west in the left lane in a Subaru Impreza when he allegedly became distracted and was unable to stop in time for slowing traffic ahead, striking the back of a Dodge Avenger driven by a 62-year old Malvern woman.

Sullivan’s vehicle spun and came to a rest facing north in the left land of Route 422 west; the other vehicle traveled into the grassy portion of the divider in the left lane of the road, according to police.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries; Sullivan was treated by Lower Providence Ambulance and was transported to the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, and Friendship Ambulance took the second driver to Phoenixville Hospital; Limerick Fire Company was also on scene to assist.

Both vehicles suffered major damage and were towed from the scene; Limerick Fire Company also responded to the scene.
