Drunken Man Injured Spring City Chief, Police Say

A call regarding an unresponsive person ended in a struggle between the subject and police officers, according to a press release.

Spring City Police have charged a local resident with aggravated assault, assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, public drunkeness and disorderly conduct following an altercation Tuesday.

Police say Dean Roeseler, Jr., of Buckwalter Road, Spring City, was lying unresponsive on the sidewalk and yard of a home on Wall Street. When an ambulance crew and police arrived, the report says, they tried to rouse Roeseler from unconsciousness.

Roeseler allegedly became physically combative with police and emergency responders and had to be forcibly subdued, police said. Once cuffed, police say he continued to struggle.
