Stolen Vehicle Spotted in Schuylkill Near Royersford [UPDATE]

An unoccupied vehicle was found in the river near Royersford just after 5 p.m.

A stolen vehicle from Philadelphia was found in the Schuylkill River in Royersford on Wednesday, according to Royersford Borough Police.

The vehicle was spotted in the river at First Ave and Arch Road Royersford around 5 p.m.  Royersford, Linfield and Black Rock fire departments responded to the scene with rescue boats.

The current carried the vehicle to the water treatment plant in Upper Providence Township where it was later removed, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

The vehicle was unoccupied, and is believed to have gone off the road at First Ave and Arch Road at some point on Wednesday.

There are no suspects in the car theft, and no further information is being released at this time.
