The fire company obtained Lucky through Willing Hearts at 14 months old in 2001.  In 2006, Lucky was named a “Life Member” of the company, an honor only given to one other fire company mascot, according to Willing Hearts Dalmatian Rescue.

The fire company said that community members are reaching out to help the fire company obtain a new mascot for the company, but the crewmembers need time to grieve Lucky’s loss.
