Former employee arrested in Chic Snyder's burglary

Two men are charged in a March 2 burglary of the bar, which closed on February 24.

Two local men have been charged in a March 2 burglary at , Limerick Township police said in a statement released to area media outlets this evening.

Christopher John Nave, 27, of the 200 block of Mingo Road, Royersford, and Andrew Joseph Geisel, 37, of the unit block of Pebble Beach Drive in Linfield, were charged with burglary. Nave is a former employee of the establishment, .

Police said Nave and Geisel broke into Chic Snyder's through a rear window in the early morning hours of March 2.  The men allegedly removed about $16,000 in property from the premises, including an automated teller machine containing more than $3,000 in cash. Other items allegedly removed included a bar mirror, two large screen televisions, four cases of Miller Light beer, and twelve bottles of "various high end Liquor," police said.

Police said they recovered the property in a leased storage unit located in Pottstown, and that Geisel's name was one of two parties listed on the unit's leasing agreement.

Police said the property suffered damages estimated at more than $20,000 during the burglary .

According to police, Geisel has five prior burglary arrests as well as arrests for arson, DUI, and assault. Nave was allegedly out on bail following a DUI arrest.

The men were taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
