Former Spring-Ford, Current UDel Quarterback Stabbed in Newark

Michael Creed, 25, was arrested and charged in the incident.

A former Spring-Ford quarterback and current member of the University of Delaware Blue Hens football team was stabbed during an altercation in Newark early Sunday morning. 

Limerick native Trevor Sasek, 22, a fifth-year senior at Delaware, was allegedly stabbed by 25-year-old Michael Creed in a municipal parking lot. 

Accroding to a Delaware Online story, Sasek and several friends were walking through the lot when Creed reportedly began yelling at them. Sasek approached Creed and grabbed his shoulder, according to witnesses, and Creed made "several punching motions" at Sasek.

After Creed fled, Sasek realized he had been stabbed three times and was bleeding. Sasek was hospitalized in stable condition, according to a Pottstown Mercury story, with stab wounds to his belly and chest.

Surveillance cameras helped police identify the car that Creed allegedly fled in, and Creed was arrested.

Creed was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during a felony, according to the Delaware Online story, and is being held in the Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $60,000 secured bail.
