Gilbertsville Woman Stopped for DUI

State Police arrested a driver for DUI in Limerick Township.

According to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, Skippack Barracks, a Gilbertsville resident was arrested in Limerick Township on Saturday, August 11.

Police report that Dawn Ward, 42, was driving her 2004 Ford Explorer on Route 422 when she was observed driving "erratically" west of the Country Club Road overpass.

Ward reportedly did not stop for the police officer when he started his lights and siren but eventually was pulled over at the bottom of the North Lewis Road offramp.

Following a field sobriety test, Ward was arrested. Court records show she was charged with several offenses, including driving under the influence, careless driving and driving without a license. 

Ward was issued a summons and will have a preliminary hearing in October.
