Internet Child Porn Sends Limerick Man to Jail

A court update on an Internet scandal

NORRISTOWN – A former Limerick man will be under court supervision for about 10 years after he admitted to using the Internet to attempt to engage in sexual activity with an underage girl while unbeknownst to him he was really communicating with an undercover detective.

Richard Dean Carbo, 49, formerly of the 5900 block of Drawbridge Court, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court on Friday to three to 23 months in the county jail, to be followed by eight years’ probation, after he pleaded guilty to charges that include unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility in connection with incidents that occurred between July 2009 and August 2010.

Judge Steven T. O’Neill said what Carbo did during the 13-month period was “vile, disgusting and were the acts of a predator, pure and simple.”
