Knife Not Used in Assault, Suspect Turned In

Chief Bill Albany confirmed at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening that both girls involved at an earlier at 7-11 go to the Vantage Alternative School in Souderton. At about 2:35 p.m., it was reported that there had been an assault at the 7-11, which is right next to .

Upon further investigation, it was that the girls involved in the incident did not go to Spring-Ford and that all persons involved were juveniles.

"Their school van drops them off at the 7-11 after school," Albany said in an email. "The argument started in the bus and turned violent after they exited it."

Albany said a pen knife was recovered at the scene, but ownership has not been determined. Neither girl was observed holding it, according to invesitgating officers.

The victim, who lives in Limerick, suffered "blunt force trauma" to her face and was treated at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

The aggressor, who lives in Royersford, fled the scene prior to police arrival. She was identified through investigation and her parents turned her in to police shortly after 4:00 p.m. Albany said she will be charged with simple assault and related offenses.

There was no other word on any other persons involved in the incident, although original reports stated the victim was jumped by one to three aggressors.
