Laver Road Man Injured in Accident

A report from Limerick Police Chief Bill Albany

The following release was sent in by Chief Bill Albany:

A 54-year-old township resident was critically injured Sunday afternoon while cutting his lawn with a riding tractor. Karl Pedone was riding a small tractor on the front lawn of his Laver Road home when he was struck by a vehicle that ran off the roadway and crashed through his wooden fence.

Pedone was thrown from the mower and landed in nearby shrubs. Paramedics from treated him at the scene and he was flown to Hahnemann Hospital Trauma Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition. Pedone has multiple fractured bones and internal injuries.

The vehicle, a 2005 Buick,  was operated by Megan Rossi, age 24, of Tristen Way in Limerick Township. Rossi stated her vehicle drifted off the edge of the roadway and she was unable to regain control of it before striking Pedone. Rossi is cooperating with police and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
