Royersford Man Guilty of Harassment

A local business owner was recently found guilty of harrassing a disabled man.

The Pottstown Mercury reports that John Salkowski, of Limerick, was found guilty of harassment in September after an incident at the former Lukoil station on Lewis Road.

Salkowski, a former Lower Merion police officer and currently the owner of the Dairy Queen in Royersford, was cited in April after police were called to the Lukoil for a report that Salkowski was yelling at a female inside the store.

Salkowski had left by the time police arrived, according to reports, but was identified by the victim.

Another woman, who reported the incident, told police that she did not speak to Salkowski inside the store but after he exited the store, he came over to her vehicle and told her to "mind [her] own f------ business." The woman's husband, a double amputee who was seated in the car, asked Salkowski who he thought he was talking to, and, according to the report, Salkowski told the man "I'll tear your arms off, too."

Salkowski then got into a vehicle and left.

An employee of the Lukoil store told police at the time that Salkowski and his wife do a custody exchange at the store and that Salkowski "fights every time he comes in."

The Mercury reports that Salkowski has had multiple run-ins with police for disorderly conduct.

Salkowski was charged with harassment in the April case and had a hearing in front of District Judge Edward Kropp, Sr. Kropp found Salkowski guilty, and Salkowski appealed to the Court of Common Pleas.

Senior Judge William Nicholas heard the appeal and found Salkowski guilty of harassment on September 27.

Salkowski is required to pay a $300 fine and court costs, and the harassment charge remains on his record.
