Multiple arrests for theft in 2 1/2 hour period

Limerick Township Police arrested five people in two separate incidents at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets on Sunday, July 22.

According to Limerick police chief William Albany, police first were called to the Gap Outlet store at about 4:30 PM. The caller reported that two females were in the store and that one had stolen items from the store on a prior occasion.

The two suspects are identified as Diamond Burgan, 22, and Tiaana Everett, 21. Both are from Philadelphia.

Police believe that a third person called the two women and warned them that police were coming because after they received a cell phone call, the two women were observed emptying the bag on the floor and attempting to leave the store.

Items in the bag totaled approximately $1,200. The suspects were detained, arrested, and charged with theft and related charges. Both subjects were remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Police were then called to the Neiman Marcus outlet store around 7:00 p.m. on a report of three young men fighting with loss prevention officers.

Police reported that the three men were detained when police arrived. Police learned that one of the males, Damon Johnson Jr., 18, had torn a tag from a pair of pants and hidden them in a bag he was handed by Giovanni Augustin, 19.

A third person with the two suspects, a 17-year-old male, was not identified due to his being a juvenile.

Police report that Johnson tried to leave the store and was detained by the loss prevention officer.

Augustin and the juvenile allegedly started fighting with the loss prevention officer to free Johnson. A second loss prevention officer also got involved in the scuffle.

All three suspects were charged with conspiracy and related theft charges..  The juvenile was released to his mother and the two adults were remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
