The Limerick Township Police Department logged 149 incidents between May 7 and 13. Of them, nine were deemed false alarms.

Man Hits Flower Pots at Trailer Park in Alleged DUI

On May 5 at 1:49 p.m., Officer John Cassel Jr. was dispatched to 165 W. Ridge Pike, lot 242 for a hit and run in progress. He was told a burgundy Monte Carlo struck two flower pots at lot 233 and parked at lot 242. The caller indicated the driver may be intoxicated.

Upon arrival, Cassel observed a Mark Alan Richardson, 57, sitting on his front step smoking a cigarette.

"I don't know what the problem is," Richardson said to police. "All I did was run over a kid's scooter. I'll pay the $29 for it. The kid shouldn't have it in the street anyway."

Witnesses on scene told Cassel that Richardson never hit a scooter and that there was not a scooter in the street that day. Cassel said he also observed a mud trail from the vehicle's tires from the flower pots to the residence, along with minor damages to confirm the incident. Richardson was asked to do a field sobriety test. Richardson reportedly admitted he was drunk.

He also told police he could legally drive on the private property and that he was just going to get his mail.

Richardson was allegedly at a liquor store earlier in the day to purchase a bottle of vodka. He was also at Wawa for gas and to "talk to someone." Richardson told police he was "handing $2 out to kids in Target until he was thrown out by management."

Police reported an odor of alcohol coming from Richardson, as well as a staggered gait. Richardson told police he could beat any DUI arrest. His PBT was determined to be a .229. He was taken into custody to Pottstown Police Department.

Richardson has two prior DUI offenses - one in 1997 and one in 2004. He was allegedly charged with DUI and careless driving for this offense.

Two Reported Retail Thefts Kohl's

On May 10 at 5:58 p.m., Officer Pat Roche was dispatched to for a retail theft offender in custody. Upon arrival, he was told by loss prevention that the woman, Gloria Ann Rosato, 41 of Norristown, was in the accessories section. She allegedly removed sales tags from a pair of sunglasses and placed them on her head. She then paid for several items and left without paying for the sunglasses.

She was approached by security and it was found that she had seven articles of clothing (women's shirts and underwear) that were also not purchased from the store. The total amount for the stolen items was determined to be $144.53.

Rosato was transported to Pottstown Police Department and it was determined she had no prior arrests for retail theft. She was issued a summary citation and released.

On May 12 at 8:58 p.m., Officer Christopher Nestler was dispatched to Kohl's for a retail theft. Loss prevention reported a black female ran east across S. Township Line Road with stolen items. According to the police radio, the woman was seen on foot on 422 East.

Officers reported a black purse with stolen merchandise was found on the roadside at 9:08 p.m. At 9:39 p.m., staff members reported finding red women's boots in the third floor utility closet. Police detained a Karleen Andreen German, 39 of Limerick, in the lobby of the hotel.

She was taken into custody and it was determined she had prior arrests for retail theft in 2010. She was arraigned for this incident on May 13 and given $5,000 unsecured bail. Her preliminary hearing is on May 22 at 10:30 a.m.

Man Allegedly Harasses Ex-Girlfriend and child in Vehicle

On April 28 at 12:23 a.m., Officer Tim DiGregorio responded to a harassment call at on W. Ridge Pike. A woman told police her ex-boyfriend was trying to run her off the road and chase her with his vehicle.

She reported the man, Mark Christopher Rokita Jr., 27 of Pottstown, accelerated to the rear bumper of her vehicle. She had her 9-year-old daughter in the back seat, who was allegedly scared that Rokita would hit the back of the car.

The woman said she pulled into the and he pulled up next to her. She told him to leave and then she drove to . She thought he was gone, but the woman reported she saw him again going west on Ridge Pike, again accelerating close behind her car.

Police said Rokita will be cited for harassment and reckless driving.
