Kohl's thefts

Two Philadelphia men were arrested outside the Kohl's department store in Royersford on Friday evening after allegedly leaving the store with unpaid merchandise.

Police said that they were contacted by store security personnel after the men were observed gathering clothing from within the store and taking it to a dressing room, where they allegedly attempted to conceal it on their persons.

Kristopher Allen Henderson, 19, and Christopher Andious Thomas, 29, were charged with retail theft and "related charges."

Police said Henderson has previously been arrested for theft, forgery, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Thomas was said by police to have been previously arrested for retail theft, forgery, and possession of false identification.

Half of sunglasses-stealing duo nabbed

A Philadelphia man was arrested at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon after allegedly stealing a pair of sunglasses from the Solstice Sunglass store, police said.

Police said David A. Jones, 43, of Philadelphia, has numerous aliases and 25 prior arrests including "firearms violations, escape, assault and 18 retail theft arrests."

Jones allegedly fled the store and gave his overcoat to a second, unidentified male. He then attempted to board a bus before he was "subdued" and apprehended. Police were unable to locate the second suspect and the sunglasses were not recovered.

Jones was charged with theft, resisting arrest, and criminal conspiracy. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.

$10K in stolen merchandise recovered

Police arrested two New York men on Route 422 late Saturday afternoon after security personnel at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets allegedly observed them placing a bag of suspected stolen merchandise in their car, changing their coats, and returning to the mall.

Eddie Lopez, 20, of Flushing, NY, and Nadyr Rivera, 21, of East Elmhurst, NY, were charged with organized retail theft and "related charges" after police recovered 287 items of allegedly stolen merchandise with an estimated retail value of more than $10,000 from their vehicle.

"Booster bags and other instruments of crime were also located in the vehicle," police said.

As the arrests were made, the manager of the Calvin Klein store at the outlets reported the theft of between $3,000 and $4,000 worth of merchandise. Police said the store manager identified Lopez and Rivera as the persons responsible for the theft.

"Lopez has prior arrests in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania for drug law violations, retail theft, firearms violations, possessing burglary tools and receiving stolen property," Limerick Township police chief William Albany said in the statement.

According to police, Lopez was detained at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets last September as a suspected accomplice in a retail theft, but police lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges.

Lopez and Rivera were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
