The Limerick Police Department responded to 197 incidents between July 2 and July 8. 

Patrol car damaged

Limerick Police officer Kevin McGuigan reported on July 7 that the right rear taillight on his patrol car was broken while the car was parked at his home.

McGuigan told reporting officer Sgt. Paul Marchese that he arrived home at 7:00pm the previous evening and parked the car in his driveway. McGuigan reported that he noticed the broken taillight at about 3:30pm on Saturday. 

Downingtown woman arrested for theft

A Downingtown woman was arrested at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets on July 2 after a Last Call Neiman Marcus security officer observed her allegedly placing a pair of shoes in her purse.

Officer Christopher Nestler responded to the call, finding 43-year-old Xiao Ping Du, of 894 Willamsburg Boulevard, Downingtown, in possession of several allegedly stolen items. Nestler's report states that Du had a silver Nordstrom bag containing items from the Loft, Coach, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger and Last Call Neiman Marcus stores. 

In checking with those other stores, Nestler was advised that the defendant had allegedly taken the items from the stores without paying.

The items were valued at a total of $238.84. 

Du was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Kathleen Valentine at the Pottstown Police Department. Du was charged with misdemeanor theft over $200 and released on $5,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing was continued until August 9, 2012.
