Limerick police: Elderly man wanders onto nuclear plant property
The 81-year-old Philadelphia man had been reported missing by his family on Monday night.
An 81-year-old Philadelphia man reported missing by his family on Monday night was found Tuesday morning on the premises of the , Limerick Township police chief William Albany said in a statement released to area media outlets this evening.
The man was stopped by power plant security personnel early Tuesday after he entered a training facility at the perimeter of the complex. Albany said the man, who drove a family car from Philadelphia to Limerick, told security personnel that he "was there to have his car worked on."
Police were contacted at 6:45am, and their investigation revealed that the man was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and had been reported missing the night before.

"Philadelphia police and the man's family were contacted and the subject was turned over to his son a short time later," Albany said.
Albany declined to identify the man, citing his medical condition.
