Man Headed to Jail for Limerick Vehicle Thefts

COURTHOUSE — His role in a “Fast and Furious” multi-state vehicle theft ring that hit a Limerick dealership in August 2011 has ended with a felony conviction and a trip to jail for one of the thieves.

Antwan David McClam, 20, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced Wednesday in Montgomery County Court to six-to-23 months in the county jail, to be followed by three years’ probation, after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking and a misdemeanor charge of possessing an instrument of crime in connection with a theft that occurred at on Aug. 5.

Police learned that three vehicles were stolen from the dealership - a 2005 silver Chevrolet Corvette, a 2009 gray Pontiac G8 and a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro RS - valued at a total of $84,977, according to testimony. Additionally, a representative from the dealership told police four vehicles had their 20-inch tires and rims stolen from the vehicles. The value of the 16 tires and 16 rims was $14,349.
