A Lansdale man was arrested after allegedly stealing more
than $300 in baby formula from the Wegmans in Collegeville and leading police
on a chase down Route 422.
Christopher Huck, 39, of Lansdale, was at Wegmans on Jan. 6 just before 1 p.m. when he allegedly put baby formula worth $332.43 in his bag and left without paying, according to the Pottstown Mercury.
Huck was seen driving a red Jeep at a “ridiculous speed,” police said, and ran through a red light to merge onto Route 422 East, according to police.
Three marked police vehicles followed Huck down the high way for les than 30 minutes. When the vehicle skidded out on the shoulder of Route 422, officers held Huck at gunpoint, according to the report.
Police said that Huck did not have identification, or permission to use the Jeep he was driving, which was owned by his girlfriend.
Huck posted $15,000 bail on Jan. 16. He is expected in court on Tuesday to answer to additional theft charges that were filed after a Dec. 23 incident in Hatfield.
