Multiple Injuries Reported in Ridge Pike Crash

The crash was one of two within ten minutes in Limerick Township Tuesday night.

Several injuries were reported during a crash at on Ridge Pike and Neiffer Road in Limerick on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., just ten minutes a rollover crash on Fruitville and Smith roads.

A family of four, including two children, was traveling eastbound on Ridge Pike in an Honda SUV when the vehicle was broadsided by a white van that then flipped over, according to KWY.

The father of the family, also the driver, was extricated from the vehicle; all four occupants, including a mother and two children, were transported to area hospitals.

The passenger of the van was transported via a helicopter to a Philadelphia trauma center. The driver of the van was sent to an area hospital.

The driver and the passenger of the van, both men, did not speak English and were unable to communicate with police, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

Just ten minutes prior to the Ridge Pike accident, emergency crews also responded to a crash at Fruitville and Smith roads in Limerick Township, where a vehicle rolled over. Minor injures were reported in the crash.

That poor family in the SUV will get nothing but trouble since the two occupants in the van "did not speak English". I'm sure they are undocumented Mexicans in a work van with no license or insurance. Hope the family is okay.

I agree with you Julie. The illegal immigration problem in this state is getting out of hand. What's really sad is that the state spends billions handing out welfare to these people! it's our money!

Yes, Julie, because the only Non-English speaking Mexicans that live in this country are the undocumented kind. Your ignorance is terrifying...hopefully you don't have kids! God only knows we don't need a younger version of you.

The U.S. has the most generous immigration policies of any industrialized country, yet folks flaunt our border security with ease. Only the Federal government can stop this, but the current administration is no better than the last in enforcing our laws. If they can get here to deliver their kids, they are entitled to taxpayer benefits, likes section8, foodstamps, etc. The Chinese have a business bringing women into the U.S. to deliver their anchor babies.

Ok i agree our immigration laws stink but i dont think the article said they were illegal or did not have insurance. Just because they did not speak english does not mean they are here illegally. How many americans go to other countries and do not know the language...

Guess I'm just old fashioned michelle. If you are in this country then you get documents for a specific reason. If it's a work visa, they would have to speak English. If it was a visitor visa, they do not have to speak English, but they would NOT have a driver's license. So.... which one is it? Right! Either way they broke the law. How is that ignorance? It's FACT! So get off your liberal high horse and hire an immigration lawyer for your friends.

Do you have any idea how many legal Puerto Ricans live here and cannot speak a word of English? The best part? They do not HAVE TO! They also have driver's licenses.

Just as Julie, I, too, feel bad for the family who's lives have just been turned upside-down. I hope they all have a speedy recovery and can find a way to enjoy their holidays. Anyone living in this Country should be able to speak and understand the English language. That should be a requirement in order to live here. The majority of us all, have one or more ancestors who arrived in America from their native country. My own great-grandfather traveled to America from Italy. He learned to speak the English language and he was a highly respectible individual, owning a shoe store, shoe repair business and a nightclub/restaurant. In those days, the people who arrived in this Country, made learning English one of their top priorities. They had respect for our Country and consideration to the American people. If a person from a foreign country wishes to live here and take from us, then they should be forced to know/learn the English language and to refrain from speaking their native tongue while in the presence of 'we the people'. It's called respect. Ignorance is having no respect for this Country or it's citizens. Ignorance spews forth from the mouths of those who lack intelligence.

if you come here learn OUR language (ENGLISH) - if you don't get your sorry as-es out of here-those that caused the accident should be prosecuted to fullest and if they caused the death be executed for such- so many of mexs drive with no ins-we don't need them here and all should be thrown out of our country

Michelle was in no way saying they were not illegal immigrants. She was saying that every non-English speaking person is not a Mexican. Hispanic wise in this area, most are Guatemalan. There are also a lot of Ecuadorians. And if you get closer to the city, there are whole populations of fresh immigrants from eastern Europe. And there is still immigration from India, Egypt, and other middle-eastern country. Also, many do come here legally, usually on work or school visas. Not saying it is right, but when their visas run out, they decide to stay instead of going back to their sh*t hole country. If given the choice, they would gain citizenship. This is ofcourse does not ring true for everyone, but neither do most stereotypes, do they. I respect peoples opinions on this issue, and understand the frustrations, but please do research from REPUTABLE sources before spewing off said opinion.
