Norristown Man Flown to Philly Hospital After Assault

The man was reportedly hit in the head from behind with a hard object and robbed.

According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, a man was flown to a Philly-area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during a robbery in the West End Monday night.

Officers responded to the 00 block of Hamilton Street shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, for a report of an assault victim at that address. On the scene, police spoke with a 40-year-old man who told them he was walking home from a store in the area of West Washington and Noble streets when he heard what sounded like footsteps behind him. The victim said before he could turn to see who was behind him, he was struck in the back of the head with what felt like a brick.

The victim told police that as he lay on the ground, two men took $120 from his person and fled the area. The victim stated he may have blacked out briefly after the attack, but was able to walk to his home and call police.

The victim described his attackers as two black males, one of whom was wearing a biege jacket and blue jeans. He was reportedly unable to provide further description.

The victim reportedly sustained a laceration to the top right side of his head and another injury to his left eye. He was transported to a nearby landing site by Plymouth Ambulance and flown by medevac to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Norristown Police Department at 610-270-0977.

clearly you don't have any common sense because you would understand that if other people/parents are taking your stance and NOT having their child speak up, then AGAIN, how are the police supposed to do their job if NOBODY wants to speak up? and duh, if the police heard who dunnit, then of course they will do sumthin about it...problem is NOBODY (like you) wants to talk to the police...

OMG, go sit down somewhere bc what are you going to do if someone did assult your child? huh? especially if you dont know who did it. your not going to do anything but drive your self crazy trying to find out who did it and why just like the next parent would be. so what your child is repeating what another child told him. at least if you took him down to say something the cops would have something to go off rather than nothing.

I think everyone is misinterpreting what OMG is sayin... I think OMG is saying that if her child only heard about an incident from other people there is no need to take them to the police station verses if her child saw sumthin with his or her own eyes I would think she would do the right thing and take them to give a statement at the police station
