One Injured in Two-vehicle Crash in Limerick
The injured victim had to be extricated from the vehicle.
A woman was injured Thursday evening when her minivan was struck by another vehicle near the intersection of West Ridge Pike and North Lewis Road in Limerick.
Emergency crews had to cut the driver's side door off the minivan to extricate the victim, said Battalion Chief Jeff Detwiler.
A female child who was a passenger in the minivan was uninjured in the crash, as was the driver of the second vehicle, a small sports utility model.

Detwiler said the unidentified victim had "pre-existing injuries" that were aggravated by the crash, which occurred shortly after 7:30pm. She was transported to a hospital in Reading for evaluation. Detwiler characterized her injuries as "not very serious."
The accident closed the intersection for about 45 minutes.
