Plotts' Taken for $157K by Former Employee

A Pottstown woman faces felony charges in the case.

ROYERSFORD — A Pottstown woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony theft after she allegedly stole more than $157,000 from her employer, , over a five-year period.

Tammy Schlotzhauer, 45, of 81 Diamond St., was released on $50,000 unsecured bail after she was arraigned before District Judge Walter F. Gadzicki Wednesday.

Royersford Officer John O’Keefe was contacted by a representative of Plotts’ Energy, located in the 400 block of Main Street, Royersford, on Dec. 30, 2011 regarding the alleged thefts on behalf of Schlotzhauer.

According to the arrest affidavit filed by O’Keefe, the Plotts’ Energy representative explained it had been discovered “large cash payments were missing on accounts paid,” and Schlotzhauer was the receptionist responsible for “dealing with clients, accepting payments for services rendered, and filling out documents reporting daily activities at the company.”
