Intoxicated Man Claims he was Dropped Off by Restaurant Owner

On Feb. 16 at 7:42 p.m., responding Officer David Bartok was dispatched to 2208 Summerdale Ln. for a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the resident reported a suspicious white man visiting her, who asked her if he could use her shed. She reported there is no shed on her property, and when she told the man that, he wandered off in an unknown direction.

Officer Brian Tyler found the man, identified as Edwin R. Dehaven III, 54 of Philadelphia, on Rosewood Trail near Main Street. It was noted that Dehaven III was showing signs of intoxication through odor, slurring of speech and unsteady gait. He admitted to police that he consumed three beers earlier in the night, including two Four Lokos.

Dehaven III also told police he was sitting on a bench outside of Frank's Flamin' Grill in Pottstown earlier in the night when the owner (known as Frank) allegedly came out and asked him to help with something. Dehaven III then said Frank drove him to the address on Summerdale Lane, dropped him off and drove away.

The man refused a PBT and asked to be taken to the homeless shelter in Pottstown as he had no family or friends that could help him on that night. He was taken into custody by police and housed overnight. He was issued a non-traffic citation for public drunkenness.

Bar Patron Punches Man in the Face, Flees

On Feb. 15 at 8:21 p.m., police were dispatched to the Railroad Street Bar & Grille, where a bar patron reportedly punched another in the face.

Responding Officer Brian Tyler interviewed the victim, who said he was playing pool in a league at the bar that night when a stranger walked up to him and asked if he knew him from somewhere. The victim told the actor no, and the actor walked away.

Then, the actor allegedly returned and asked the victim if he had anything to do with horses. The victim explained to police that his wife was in the horse business. He told the man yes, to which the man reacted by walking away and returning a minute later to punch him in the face. He then walked out with a friend, and reportedly left the parking lot via a black pickup truck. The owner of the establishment was able to get the license plate number and gave it to police.

Police identified the actor as Michael L. Martin, 26 of Pottstown. Martin, according to the victim, was the husband of his wife's ex-business partner. The relationship between the two women went sour, which could be why, the victim indicated, Martin attacked him.

Martin was issued a non-traffic citation for harassment.
