Police Investigating Thurs., Fri. Burglaries

Two burglaries reported in last two days

According to posts on the Limerick Township Police Department's Facebook page, the police are looking into two burglaries in as many days.

The department posted on Thursday July 12 that a resident in the unit block (house numbers below 100) of Linfield-Trappe Road reported that someone broke in through a locked screen door.

The perpetrator stole cash and jewelry from the home.

Friday, according to another Facebook post, cash and an antique firearm were stolen from a home in the 1100 block of South Township Line Road. In that case, a locked rear door was forced open.

Both burglaries are currently under investigation. Residents are encouraged to report anything suspicious by calling 9-1-1.

"The best defense against property crime is a concerned neighbor," police said in their Facebook post.

I live in a rental house in spring city. I asked my landlord to put deadbolts that I purchased on my doors and he refuses. does anyone know a contractor that will do that?

"G" I cannot believe a landlord would not allow that. Did you explain that you would provide them with a set of keys as well? Perhaps their refusal to do it was related to concern over being able to access? It is not a difficult job and I would check with neighbors or possibly even ask someone at borough hall if they might know of an organization in town who might be able to help you.
