Police: Man Busted with Coke, Heroin, Pot, Pills and Cash

Jason Lenick faces multiple drug charges.

A Royersford man was arrested on multiple drug charges Friday night after a routine traffic stop on Bridge Street turned up heroin, cocaine, marijuana, over $9,000 and several bottles of pills in his vehicle, are reporting.

Local resident Jason Lenick, 35, stands charged with 22 counts of drug possession—including possession with intention to distribute—and disorderly conduct stemming from the incident.

According to court documents, at 10:11 p.m., a Phoenixville Police officer pulled over a blue Ford Taurus that was traveling eastbound on Bridge Street with its headlights out. While speaking with Lenick, the car’s driver and sole occupant, the officer noticed a small, unlabeled pill bottle containing blue pills in plain view on the back seat. Lenick told the officer the pills were for back pain.

The officer noted a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car and saw what he described as a “green vegetable matter” inside the driver’s side door compartment.

At this point, Lenick was placed into custody in the back of the officer’s patrol car and his Taurus was towed to be further searched by authorities. During this inspection, police located what appeared to be: a pipe containing marijuana, a large plastic bag of marijuana, two smaller bags containing the same, a digital scale, a small safe containing 72 red pills, two bags of different denominations of heroin, cash, 23 bags of cocaine, more cash, a plastic bag containing 27 pills, and a box of plastic baggies. The total dollar amount found in the vehicle was $9,305.

Police examined the substances with an NIK Test Kit, which determined that the substance believed to be marijuana was marijuana, the substance believed heroin was heroin, and the substance believed to be cocaine was cocaine.

Lenick, who was charged with public drunkenness in West Chester six days before the arrest, was confined to Chester County Prison after he was unable to post bail. He faces preliminary hearing on August 23.
