Possible Stolen Vehicle Involved in Accident

It was a fender bender that revealed some interesting information

were dispatched to the 400 block of Main Street in Royersford at about 4:45 p.m. on Monday evening for a two-vehicle accident.

"The driver of the struck vehicle fled the scene and has not been located as of this time," said responding Officer Tom Godin. "The driver of the striking vehicle had minor injuries and refused treatment according to Assistant Chief Briana Weller of ."

Witnesses on scene said when the accident occurred, the struck vehicle pulled into an alley off of Main Street and the driver disappeared.

Godin then spoke with the owner of the struck vehicle, a Spring City woman, who reported that she had no knowledge of who was driving her vehicle and that she had reported it stolen to her insurance company after the first phone interview with police.

"[Redacted] also reported she had one set of keys for the vehicle and those keys were in the vehicle at the time, the vehicle was impounded for evidence collection," Godin concluded.
