An unidentified Upper Providence officer asked on Montgomery County public safety radio that PECO be called to the scene after describing the upper third of a utility pole at that location as being in flames.

"The wires are still hot, I can hear them arcing," the officer said, adding that he believed they would fall down.

Limerick Police reported on public safety radio that power was out along S. Township Line Road and in the area of Buckwalter Road due to the burning utility pole.

There were also reports of an unspecified obstruction at the intersection of N. Limerick Road and Ridge Pike in Limerick. PECO had also been notified regarding that situation.
