UPDATE: Assailant Still on the Loose from Sunoco Robbery/Stabbing

An update from Limerick Township Police Chief Bill Albany

According to Limerick Township Police Chief Bill Albany, the suspect of a robbery and stabbing on Sunday night at Sunoco on N. Lewis Road is still on the loose.

"We are looking for a white male, early 20's, scruffy facial hair, light blue eyes, brown-greenish colored hat, blue hooded sweatshirt, Timberland boots and his clothes were dirty," Albany said.

The suspect got away with approximately $130 in cash. The victim was treated and released from Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing.

"The male more than likely facial bruising from the fight he was in with the service station employees," said Albany. "Anyone with information should call Limerick Police at 610 495 7909 or 911."

Shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Sunday night, reports came in of a robbery and stabbing at the on N. Lewis Road. and were on the scene.

Limerick Corporal Fitz Duffy said that no further comment can be given tonight other than the fact that there was an attempted robbery on an employee of the gas station and he was taken to the hospital for a minor hand laceration. The K-9 unit was en route when Patch left the scene.

There was another Sunoco employee on scene that witnessed the crime. He said that the assailant asked the male victim for money, got close to him and stabbed him in the buttocks and hand.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., reports came in that a suspect matching the description was in custody in Spring City Borough. The witness was taken to the scene to identify him, but was brought back to the scene of the crime. No word on whether or not the suspect was linked to this crime or if an arrest was made.

Duffy said Police Chief Bill Albany would have an official release in the morning.
