Royersford Man Admits to Inappropriate Contact with Teen Girl, Child

A Royersford man faces nearly 40 years in prison after admitting to having sexual contact with two girls ages 6 and 15.

Richard Daniel Reed, 38, of the 200 block of Washington Street, pleaded guilty to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors in connection with his contact with a 15-year-old girl, and endangering the welfare of a child and indecent assault in connection with his contact with a six-year-old girl, according to the Times Herald.

According to court documents, the mother of the 15-year-old girl reported to Royersford Police that Reed was having sexual contact with her daughter. The girl later stated that she had a sexual relationship with Reed, and sexual texts were exchanged between the two.

During the same time, the mother of a separate girl reported to Upper Providence Police that Reed touched her inappropriately when she was roughly six years old.

According to police, Reed told the girl not to tell her mother about the incident.

Reed was arrested in October of 2012 after he barricaded himself in his basement and attempted to drink a bottle of bleach, according to Montgomery News.

Reed has not been sentenced, but he faces a maximum sentence of 191/2 to 39 years in prison.
