Royersford Man Charged in Whitpain Accident

Christopher Turner, 23, of Royersford, is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fled the scene of an accident on Skippack Pike in Whitpain Township.

A Royersford man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a utility pole and fled the scene during the early morning hours of January 30. 

Christopher Turner, 23, of Royersford, is charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle following the suspension of the registration, failure to have insurance, driving on roadways laned for traffic, and accidents involving damage to unattaneded vehicle or property, in connection with the crash.

Police state that at 5 a.m., an officer located an unoccupied black Ford Explorer that had struck a utility pole along Skippack Pike near the Village Center. As the officer attempted to locate the driver, Turner returned to the scene with his father at 5:25 a.m.

The report states that Turner was visibly intoxicated upon his return to the scene, and he claimed that a man named "Cory M" was the driver his car. When officers questioned Turner about the crash, the report states that he said he was drinking with "Cory M" but he didn't remember where and he didn't remember "Cory's" last name.

Citing evidence at the scene, the report states that police believe Turner was the driver of the vehicle.
