Alleged Sexual Assault Charges Could Force Extradition of Royersford Man

A former Royersford resident is facing charges in a six-year-old case.

Royersford police are seeking to extradite a former Pennsylvania resident on sexual assault charges, according to a report in the Spring-Ford Reporter and Valley Item.

Myron Pukowsky, 55, currently lives in California. He is alleged to have had sexual contact with a minor in December 2007. Pukowsky was not charged at the time of the incident, but new evidence led Royersford police to seek extradition.

According to court documents, Pukowsky is charged with three felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and aggravated indecent assault on a person younger than 13 years old; one felony count of endangering the welfare of children; three misdemeanor charges of indecent assault on a person younger than 13, and one misdemeanor count of corruption of a minor.

According to the Reporter, police said there is no statute of limitation on sexual assault charges involving children.

Royersford police will have to get the permission of the Montgomery County District Attorney's office and will need the help of the Los Angeles police or the FBI in California to bring Pukowsky back to Pennsylvania.
