Royersford Man Held In Strong-arm Robbery

A Royersford man has been charged in a September 5 robbery in the borough, Royersford police said.

Timothy Shockley, 42, of N. 4th Ave., allegedly pistol-whipped the female victim shortly after midnight in the vicinity of 4th Ave. and Main St. Shockley allegedly also pointed the handgun at the victim's head during the course of the robbery.

Police said Officer William Murphy and other responding officers located Shockley shortly after the assault, later obtaining a search warrant on his residence. During the ensuing search, police said they recovered drug paraphernalia and ammunition but did not locate any firearm.

Police said Shockley was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment by physical contact, and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned by magisterial district judge Walter Gadzicki and is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Royersford woman arrested on welfare fraud warrant

A woman arguing with the father of her children on a Royersford street was taken into police custody after it was found she had an outstanding warrant for welfare fraud.

Shannon Bliss, 33, of Royersford was arguing with an unidentified man at Main St. and N. 3rd Avenue on the evening of September 5, police said. Police responding to a report of a disturbance interviewed both parties, who allegedly admitted to police they had been arguing and had shoved each other during the course of the argument. They further informed police that they had children together, police said. Police conducted background checks of both parties and discovered that Bliss had an outstanding county warrant.

Bliss told police she was having trouble breathing and was transported by EMS to Phoenixville Hospital. Following her discharge from the emergency room, she was turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, police said.

Police: Man broke through door during assault on girlfriend

A Royersford man is charged with assault and physical harassment after an early morning dispute with his girlfriend at their Pine Street residence on September 10.

In a criminal complaint, Officer Joseph Oberholzter said Robert Watt, 42, pushed his girlfriend into "numerous" pieces of furniture after she had taken his keys in order to avoid him leaving the residence while intoxicated.

Police said that the victim took shelter behind a closed bedroom door, at which point she called police. Watt allegedly broke through the bedroom door, terminated the call, and assaulted the victim again before attempting to hide from responding officers.

Watt was located in the basement of the residence, police said. He was arraigned and released on bail.
