Two notable incidents from July 16-23

The Royersford Police Department released information about two incidents in the borough over the last week.

Between July 18 and 22, the department responded to a rash of vehicle break-ins as a result of vehicles not being locked.

The area covered the Millstone Court Development and the area of N. 5th Ave and Pine St. and the Spruce Court Apartments.

In a majority of the cases, the cars are not locked and the thieves are able to open the door and go through the car. Change, small electronics and other items are being stolen. The department urges residents to lock their vehicles and doors at night and to double check them before retiring for the evening. 

On July 23 around 10:00 p.m., John Wilfong Jr. 53, of the 200 block of Main St was arrested for simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment by physical contact.

He allegedly assaulted a female in his apartment. The victim was transported to Phoenixville Hospital for treatment.

Wilfong is currently incarcerated on $5,000.00 bail in Montgomery County Correctional Facility awaiting a hearing scheduled 8-1-2012 at 2:15pm at District Court 38-1-19, Judge Gadzicki.
