Spring City PD Receives Gear Donation

Pennsylvania Police Assistance Foundation gives department $500 in safety, first aid equipment

The Spring City Police Department on Monday received about $500 in donated equipment from the Pennsylvania Police Assistance Foundation, a Lehigh County-based non-profit that provides support and material assistance to both police departments and to the families of wounded and fallen officers.

Erick Hoffman, president of the foundation, presented the equipment to borough officials at the police department on Monday afternoon.

"Departments everywhere are tightening belts, cutting budgets," said Spring City Mayor Michael Weiss, who oversees the department. "Everything helps."

Weiss, alongside Chief of Police Anthony Kuklinski and Borough Council President Louis Di Guiseppe, presented Hoffman with a framed letter of gratitude on departmental letterhead.

The equipment the department received Monday mainly comprises safety gear and first aid supplies.
