Spring City Police Bust Marijuana Growers

A search warrant was served early on October 16.

Updated: Spring City Police Chief Tony Kuklinski has provided a more detailed press release.

On October 16, 2012 at or around 0645 am, Officers of the Spring City Police and the Chester County Municipal Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a residential apartment in the 300 block of Main Street in Spring City.

The property and its inhabitants had been the focus of an investigation for approximately 2 months.

We had numerous leads from residents of the Borough as well as investigative leads that lead us to believe that there was a significant marijuana growing and distribution operation at this location.

On entry into the residence officers found a marijuana growing operation in active use. There was a portable grow house, lighting, watering and ventilation systems running when we arrived.

A good amount of marijuana was found on the premises at the time, and it was apparent that the individuals recently harvested marijuana.

The participating agencies were Spring City Police, East Pikeland Township Police, East Coventry Township Police, and the Chester County Sheriffs Department.

The matter is actively under investigation and arrests are pending following conclusion.

Any persons that have information to illicit drug activity or any other criminal activity are encouraged to contact the Spring City Police Department at 610-948-3456.  All information is held strictly confidential.

They seized "a growing operation...and a good amount of marijuana," according to Kuklinski.

North or South Main? Nice job. Finally a police chief with enough guts to do his job.

Okay, let's start naming names on Patch....surely some crimes can be reported with names. It is public record. Please bring them to light. They do not arrest innocent people that often. Thanks

Chief Kuklinski told Patch that the investigation is still ongoing and there may be additional arrests, so his department is not releasing names yet. When we do have that info, we will publish it.
