Spring City Woman Jailed

Sunday got "out of control" for New St. resident

A Spring City woman didn't wait long to expend her "Get Out of Jail Free" card last weekend.

The Pottstown Mercury reports that Lisa Kern, 43, of New Street was arrested Sunday during a dispute with her husband that allegedly involved her slapping him, spitting on him and throwing an unspecified object at his head as their children looked on.

As Kern faced Judge John Bailey on assault, harassment and disorderly conduct charges, Bailey reportedly agreed to release her on unsecured bail if she agreed to stay out of trouble.

Later that night, though, police arrested her again after neighbors reported her dumping miscellaneous objects and debris from inside her house onto the street and on top of their parked cars. A police officer described Kern in court papers as "completely out of control."

Kern is in Chester County Prison pending a July 5 court hearing.
