UPDATE: Spring-Ford Student Killed in Crash

An overnight accident claimed a rising sophomore's life.

Comments on a  have identified a Spring-Ford student killed in that accident.

A search of Facebook pages has located a memorial group for the teenager.

According to the memorial page, the teenager was a Spring-Ford High School football player.

This young man would be the second Spring-Ford football player killed this summer in accidents. Spring-Ford player passed away in July.

The Spring-Ford School Board acknowledged both tragedies with a moment of silence during Monday night's board meeting.

Editor's note: Patch has decided to withhold the name of the teenager out of consideration for his family, pending confirmation from official sources or family members. Any readers seeking funeral arrangement information can contact writer Alyson D'Alessandro by clicking the link at the top of the article.

Earlier story:

Police and fire department reports, as well as a report from a reader, have indicated that a juvenile male, a rising sophomore at Spring-Ford High School, was killed last night in an auto accident.

While the reader did report the victim's name, due to the victim being a minor we will withhold the name until it is officially released by police.

Patch is investigating the details provided to us and will have more information as we can share it.

Due to the young man's age, Patch hasn't been able to confirm his identity through police sources. We are still investigating the story.
