Stove Fire Prompts Fire Department Response

The minor fire caused some damage to an apartment kitchen.

Limerick, Linfield and Trappe Fire Departments responded to an emergency call from an apartment in the Summer Chase complex around 8:30 p.m. on Monday night.

Limerick Fire Department chief Ken Shuler said that something cooking on the stove in the apartment caught fire and scorched the stove and cabinets, but that the apartment's sprinkler system put the fire out.

"It's more water damage than fire damage," Shuler said. "The sprinklers did what they were supposed to."
