A 17-year-old Perkiomen Valley High School student was arrested Monday after the Pennsylvania State Police determined that the student made threats towards Perkiomen Valley High School students and the school online and in person, police say.

Perkiomen Valley School District contacted the Pennsylvania State Police on Monday to investigate an alleged threat towards students that occurred at the high school between Dec. 11-13, police said.

The school district provided information to a PSP trooper who determined that threats were made, police said.

"There was no evidence that the student intended to act on the statements made," according to a statement from the Perkiomen Valley School District.

No other details were released by police or the school district as to the nature of the alleged threats.

The teen was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

"We want our community to know that we are taking this situation very seriously," said the district's statement. "We also want to thank those who stepped forward to assist us in learning about the threats, and encourage all to remain vigilant."

Threats can be reported to the school's tip line at www.schooltipline.com or by texting 27299 and make sure @pvhs is in the text message.

Extremely poor reporting. WHAT DID THE STUDENT SAY - EXACTLY??? Too much is perceived as a "threat" these days by idiots with authority of some type.
