Three Fires in Royersford Over the Weekend

A report on the many recent fires in Royersford

The following is a brief report on the fires that happened in Royersford over the weekend:

Friday, April 13, 9 p.m., Victory Park

"[The fire] Was about a 20 feet by 20 feet field fire which was deep seated into the under brush from the park," said Royersford Fire Chief Gary Wezel. "The fire is being ruled suspicious at this time."

Saturday, April 14, 9 p.m., Behind Ford's Edge Housing Development

"[This fire] was about a 30 feet by 50 feet area," Wezel said. "Again [this fire] is being ruled suspicious at this time."

Sunday, April 15, 6 a.m., 533 Main St.

"[This one] Was a 30 feet by 16 feet, two story, two-car garage with a second floor storage area," Wezel said. "[The] First officer on location [reported] heavy smoke from the second story of the building. Units layed a supply line in and did an agressive interior attack to knock the fire down on the second floor.

"The fire caused moderate damage to the structure of the building along with destroying most of the furniture being utilized on the second floor. The remaining storage materials on the second floor received heat and smoke damage. At this time the fire is being ruled as a possible electrical issue, with the investigation continuing."
